Peter graduated in Music from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1986 and has since had an wide-ranging career as a composer and percussionist. Primarily interested in contemporary music, Peter has also performed extensively with classical orchestras and ballet companies as well as in numerous musicals.
He is an original member of Elison Contemporary Music Ensemble where he first worked with Handspan on the creative development co-production between the two groups, An Evening in the Garden of Earthly Desire in 1989.
In the same year, Peter was a musician in Banquet, and in 1995 composed the soundtrack for Daze of Our Lives.
Peter was appointed was appointed Head Of Percussion at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in 2000 and as the inaugural Head of Percussion at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in 2013.
